The principle of lowering blood pressure is quite logical when you consider what happens when you use one of our total surround heat Far-Infrared Cabins.
The very gentle Far-Infrared light waves warm the body penetrating up to 2.5 inches (75 mm) the body recognizes that it is getting warmer and responds by trying to dissipate the heat, which it does by dilating (make bigger in diameter) blood vessels to promote blood flow to the surface where heat may be absorbed by the air around us, as the body becomes warmer you begin to perspire to further enhance heat loss.
The blood flow may increase from 5-7 litres per minute to 13, as you can imagine the blood vessels expand to facilitate this increase in volume. The heart works harder to pump the blood around which actually exercises the heart and stimulates the whole cardiovascular system which benefits from the conditioning of gentle continuous passive exercise.
This whole exercise regime safely increases heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate, whilst lowering blood pressure (particularly diastolic) as a result of the expansion and contraction of the blood vessel walls, creating an improved overall cardiovascular fitness.
A German study showed reduced blood pressure in patients with hypertension, they concluded that just one hours session of Far-Infrared therapy can have significant reduction of blood pressure thanks to persistent peripheral vessels dilation. They also noted that blood viscosity was improved. After 1 hour of far-Infrared radiance, there is a significant decrease of blood pressure – cardiac ejection resistance – total peripheral resistance – and significant increase of heart rate, stroke volume, cardiac output, and ejection fraction that remained for up to 24 hours after the session.
